What resources do you have for genealogical research?

Answer

We provide access to Ancestry for Virginians and Heritage Quest.

Ancestry for Virginians: The Library of Virginia provides Virginians free public access to select collections and content through an agreement with Ancestry.com. Access digitized and indexed records and materials that would otherwise require a paid Ancestry.com subscription.

Heritage Quest: Genealogy resource that provides a collection of research materials for tracing family history and American culture. The list of resources includes census data, city directories, agricultural and industrial schedules and more.

Library card holders can access these databases through our Research Database page. When you get to the page, scroll find the database you are looking for. You will be prompted to enter your Henrico Library card number.
